Mary E. Crane, 77, of 325 Pershing Avenue, Galion, died Monday, January 26, 2004 at Galion Community Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born February 16, 1926 in Sandusky, she was the daughter of the late Russell Hullinger and Ruth (Meyer) Hullinger. On July 24, 1943 she married Melvin R. “Bud” Crane and he died April 6, 1997.

She attended Mansfield Senior High School and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Galion, Galion Golden Age Center and its Jing-A-Lings, member and past president of both Galion Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie #630 and American Legion Scarbrough Post #243, Auxiliary; member of Galion Women of the Moose, Chapter #177, and the Galion Elk’s Emblem Club.

She worked at the former North Electric Company and owned and operated Bud and Mary's Carry Out which is now South Market Beverage Center.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth and Michael Britt, of Galion and Laura McPeek, of Crestline; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Jerri Crane, of Mansfield; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Jeanie Hullinger, of Galion; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marilyn and William Earhart, of Galion, Virginia and Coy Turner, of Dayton and Valarie Caffey, of Longview, Texas.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Hullinger, a sister, Helen Hullinger and a grandson.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 29, at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 30 with Rev. Karl Ribbeck officiating. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
