Mabel V. Gardner, 98, formerly of 334 Orange Street, Galion, died Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Village Care Center, Galion.

Born September 21, 1905 in Marion Co., she was the daughter of the late Carol Harper Seas and Clara Sarah (Heimlich) Seas. On June 7, 1926 she married Lawrence Retterer and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1949. She then married Frank W. Weber and he preceded her in death in 1960 she then married Frank B. Gardner and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1978.

She was a graduate of Marion Business College and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Galion, where she was very active in her church and was a member of the Mary Martha Circle and Lutheran Daughters.
She was a 50 year member of Naomi Chapter #47 Order of Eastern Star, Galion. She retired from the Galion Inquirer and during World War II she worked at the former Ohio Overcoat in Galion as a supervisor.

Surviving is a sister, Corrine Denzer, of Waldo, a brother, George D. Seas, of Valley Forge, Penn. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

Friends may call from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, with Rev. Karl Ribbeck officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
