Larry N. Cottrill, 65, of Galion, died Monday, March 22, 2004 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after complications from recent surgery. He has been ill for the last two years.

Born September 6, 1938 in Hamden, Ohio, he was the son of the late Donald Cottrill and Dorothy (Eberts) Cottrill. He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. (Perkins) Cottrill whom he married August 22, 1965.

He was a graduate of Wellston High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962. He moved to Galion in 1966 from Michigan and worked at Galion AMCO where he was a machinist and later a supervisor. He retired from the firm when it was Galion Valentec.

He enjoyed being with his family and he and his wife liked to travel. He also liked fishing, boating and tinkering in his garage, working on cars.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Terry Barre, of Galion; a son, Larry R. Cottrill, of Galion; a granddaughter, Abigail Barre; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Wayne Waugh, of Wellston and Wanda and Dr. V.P. Mathew, of Bethel, and a brother and sister-in-law, James and Cheri Thompson, of Wellston.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Carpenter and Mary Marie Johnson.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 26, with Rev. Samuel J. Buehrer officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
