Helen C. Biles, 85, of 912 Biddle Road, Galion, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Galion Community Hospital. She had been in excellent health until a sudden illness two months ago.

Born June 10, 1918 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late John L. Walker and Carrie (Tallman) Walker. She was preceded in death on February 26, 1967 by her husband, Harold S. Biles whom she married on September 19, 1940.

She retired from Galion Community Hospital in 1987 after 19 years where she was the payroll supervisor. She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1936 and was a member of Galion Community Hospital, Auxiliary TWIG 4 and served as their Publicity Director.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Florence Belle Walker of Fairview, Penn., two nieces and nephews-in-law, Robin and James Geisert of Lexington, Ky., Wendy and Michael Chamberlin of Perrysburg; three nephews and nieces-in-law, David and Julie Walker of Myakka City, Fla., Jonathan and Joni Walker of Birmingham and Robert and Margey Walker of Erie, Penn.; five great-nieces, Heidi (Deron) Herald, of Fishers, Ind., Gretchen (Jerry) Underwood, Georgetown, Ky., Melissa and Katie Chamberlin, Perrysburg, Heather Walker, of Basalt, Colo., Carrie Walker, of Huron; three great nephews, David (Aimee) Walker, of Myakka, Fla., Kevin Chamberlin, of Perrysburg and Robert M. Walker, of Erie, Penn.; one great-great nephew and three great-great nieces.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Walker and a sister, Patricia Strong.

At Helen's request there will be no calling hours or funeral services. She will be buried next to her husband at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Charity of Donors Choice.

Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Davis Funeral Home.
