Katherine Elizabeth Altstadt, 81, of 949 Clearview Drive, Galion, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Village Care Center, Galion.

Born April 14, 1923 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Willson and Eva (Sperzel) Willson. She was preceded in death on August 10, 1993 by her husband, Paul H. Altstadt, Sr. whom she married on September 27, 1946.

She was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. She attended Free Methodist Church, Galion. During World War II she worked at Westinghouse and later as a cook at various places including Mansfield City Schools, Crestline Nursing Home and Gray’s Drug Store in Mansfield.

Surviving are six sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Robert and Bonnie Altstadt, of Hillsboro, Ore., Nicholas and Judy Altstadt, of Sidney, Paul and Diane Altstadt, Jr., of Galion, Thomas and Lynn Altstadt, of Crestline, Charles and Ronda Altstadt, of Galion, Jeffrey and Terri Altstadt, of Bowling Green; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Dorthea N. Lofquist, of Sandusky.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at Free Methodist Church, with Rev. Paul Walter officiating. Interment will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
