Vivian M. Heimlich, 95, of 633 Teakwood Court, Galion, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Galion Community Hospital.

Born March 6, 1908 in Basil, she was the daughter of the late Israel Blauser and Anna (Kumler) Blauser. She was preceded in death on March 6, 1996 by her husband, Elza Edgar Heimlich, Jr., whom she married January 14, 1958.

She was a graduate of Liberty Union High School and attended Otterbein College. While in college she played piano and clarinet and was the leader of her own all girl dance band.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Galion Elk's Emblem Club and Miriam Circle at Church. She was an expert gardener and could grow anything. She was creative and artistic and liked working with ceramics and dried flowers.

She and her husband owned B-B Mobile Homes in Galion which stood for Bouncing Bungalow. She previously worked at Stanton Insurance in Mansfield and for The Ohio Society of Professional Engineers where she started and ran their placement service in Columbus

She has been the family matriarch and is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Martha Rogers, of Cincinnati; two daughters, Suzanne Miller, of Arlington, Va. and Barbara Cornell, of Columbus; two step-sons and step-daughters-in-law, Charles G. and Ann Heimlich and Paul L. and Nancy Heimlich, of Galion; 14 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Phillips, of Mentor and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, four brothers and a step-granddaughter.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 15, at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 16, with Rev. Timothy Keeler officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

An Emblem Club Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, during calling hours.
