Vesta E. Ward, 91, of 849 S. Market Street , Galion, died Thursday, January 15, 2004 at Fairhaven Home, Upper Sandusky, where she has resided the past 4 ½ years.
Born May 4, 1912 in Huron, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Hardy and Christina (Hasle) Hardy. October 30, 1937 she married Cloyd Otto Ward in Covington, Ky. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1965.
She is a member of First United Church of Christ in Galion. She was a homemaker most of her life and worked as a waitress at Galion Country Club for many years.
Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Connie Goodman, Vicky and John Clinger, of Upper Sandusky and Karen Seevers, of Galion; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Bonnie Ward, of Orient and David Ward and his companion, Anetta Glen, of Galion; four grandchildren, Lori Feightner, of Utica, Lisa Rodriguez, of Reynoldsburg, Phillip Karg, of New York City and Steven Karg, of Upper Sandusky; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jacob Feightner, Michaela Wolfe, Brianna Karg and Courtney and Braeden Rodriguez.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Tony and Mike Seevers; two brothers, Volney and Victor Hardy and a sister, Vivian White.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15, at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Samuel J. Buehrer officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
