Dorotha Mae "Dot" Corbin, 82, of 174 Edgewood Drive , Galion, died Monday, January 19, 2004 at Galion Community Hospital, after an apparent heart attack.
Born November 18, 1921 in Shelby, she was the daughter of the late George L. Rogers and Flossie B. (Bissel) Rogers. She married Richard D. Corbin on October 14, 1945 and he survives.
She was a graduate of Springfield Township High School in 1939 and attended Baldwin Wallace Collage.
She was a member First United Methodist Church, Galion, Martha Circle at Church; Naomi Chapter # 47 Order of the Eastern Star, Galion and was Grand Deputy of District #2 International Order of Rainbow for Girls and member of White Shrine in Mansfield. She loved doing arts and crafts, sewing, gardening, cooking, baking and was good at most everything she did.
She retired in 1981 from Galion City Schools after 13 years where she was secretary to the principal at North Elementary School.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael E. and Betty Corbin of Lynchburg, Va. and Mark R. Corbin of Galion, and a granddaughter, Susan M. Corbin, of Los Angeles, one sister, Gwendolyn M. Swank of Damariscotta, Maine and a brother, George D. Rogers of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn G. Stewart.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2004 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home, 218 S. Market Street, Galion, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24, with Rev. Tom Matus officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
