My favorite memory is learning about grafting apple trees from Wayne. It was obvious that he felt passionate about sharing his knowledge and love of trees with others. I remember as a child being surprised that the topic of growing apple trees and the art of grafting was so interesting. I sometimes think back on that conversation when I see the lovely pink and white grafted dogwoods that are so gorgeous in Connecticut.
